DR. LEE VAGT
Dr. Lee Vagt offers traditional Chiropractic and much more. He has spent over 35 years studying and developing innovative techniques that address the interaction between the physical, nutritional, emotional, and spiritual self. Using his extensive education in Applied Kinesiology, he locates the weak link in the body mind complex, introduces precise nutritional interventions and Neurointegration exercises to reinforce a rebalancing process. Lee has found that many physical problems are the result of traumas that occurred at a cellular level before the nervous system was fully developed. By using his unique approach, issues are resolved that otherwise would remain undiscovered. Dr. Vagt works well with people of all ages, listens carefully and combines sensitivity, humor and a relaxed and yet informative approach to health and healing. This makes him the first choice of his many loyal patients and their families, no matter what their complaint.
WHO I AM
DR.LEE VAGT
A native Ukiahan, Dr.Vagt graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1971 as a 2nd Lieutenant with a Bachelor of Science degree. Captain Vagt resigned his commission after 5 yrs as an airborne ranger with 65 parachute jumps from the Arctic Circle to the Gulf of Mexico in Florida.
While attending Palmer College of Chiropractic, he was introduced to Applied Kinesiology (AK) by Dr. Fred Dieterlie. Loving the challenge of solving puzzles, AK gave Lee tools to put his heart and soul into the healing profession. He opened his office in Ukiah, California in 1980 and continues his work there today, as well as in his new location in Sacramento, California.
In the mid 1980's, Lee began working with a local therapist who theorized that the limbic system was at the root of many problems, both emotional and physical. This exploration evolved into a more expanded understanding of the triune brain and the development of what Lee terms “Neurointegration”. Early experiential workshops given by Pam Levin, RN and William Emerson lead Lee to experience first-hand benefits of this work.
In 2008, when a family member was diagnosed with chronic Lyme, the opportunity to unravel this complex disease presented itself. Thanks to an ND's guidance in the treatment of Lyme and its co-infections, Lee’s was able to add his muscle testing skills in the development of an approach that integrated the methylation cycle and plant stem cells to create an accelerated rate of healing. Subsequent learning has opened the door to greater understanding of the healing process in other chronic conditions.
CHIROPRACTIC
CHIROPRACTIC & PHYSICAL THERAPY
Chiropractic is a science of applied neurophysiologic diagnosis based on the theory that health and disease are LIFE PROCESSES related to the function of the nervous system: irritation of the nervous system by MECHANICAL, CHEMICAL, or PSYCHIC FACTORS is the cause of disease: restoration and maintenance of health depend on normal function of the nervous system.
Diagnosis is the identification of these NOXIOUS IRRITANTS and treatment is their removal by the most CONSERVATIVE method. Dorland's Illustrated Medical Dictionary 28th Edition.
APPLIED KINESIOLOGY
Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a non-invasive system that evaluates structural, chemical, and mental aspects of health using manual muscle testing combined with other standard methods of diagnosis. It has many important applications in health care.
The combined terms “applied” and “kinesiology” describe the basis of this system, which is the use of manual muscle testing to evaluate body function through the dynamics of the musculoskeletal system.
Treatments may involve specific joint manipulation or mobilization, various myofascial therapies, cranial techniques, meridian and acupuncture skills, clinical nutrition, dietary management, counseling skills, evaluating environmental irritants and various reflex procedures.
Triad of Health
The triad of health lists the three basic indicators of health problems as structural, chemical, and mental. Structure forms the base of the triad. Literally, all health problems, whether functional or pathological, are involved with one or more parts of the triad. This is not new to chiropractic. Its founder, D.D. Palmer states in The Science, Art, and Philosophy of Chiropractic:“The determining causes of disease are traumatism, poison and autosuggestion.” AK enables the doctor to evaluate the triad's functional balance and direct therapy accordingly. The physician who is aware of the triad of health and evaluates every patient from this point of view, increases his ability to find the basic underlying cause of a patient’s health problem.
Nutrition, manipulation, diet, acupressure, exercise and education are then used therapeutically to help restore balance and maintain well being throughout life.
NEUROINTEGRATION
I have used the process which I developed called Neurointegration to explore how we as human beings interact to create our internal reality and how we operate in the world. Over these 35 plus years, I have come to realize that what I was actually exploring was how to exist in human form in a way that is consistent with the souls essence.
When the body, heart, mind, and spiritual are in agreement then we function in harmony and balance. However, what the conscious mind believes and what we say is generally at odds with the body, our subconscious and unconscious programming and especially the reality of the spiritual. When this dis-connect becomes chronic, we see self-sabotage, unrest and various states of dis-ease beginning to manifest.
Whatever the stressor, it is based on an unintegrated experience. Be it a physical or emotional trauma, a toxic environment, a misunderstanding, or any other factor, the resulting reaction (part of the original fight/flight/freeze mechanism) energetically robs the system of vitality. Through a system of muscle testing, we can determine the onset of the trauma, and the belief or emotion connected to it. Then particular cranial structures are energetically directed to release the trapped energy of fixation, thus allowing new input in alignment with present understanding and purpose.
This allows one's multi-sensory awareness of balance and harmony to develop (inner and outer) in a state that is progressively in alignment with health at all levels and demensions . Then ideally, one is able to make automatic internal adjustments when triggered by an issue that comes up in daily life. All outer intervention only leads to the doorway of the spiritual. It may be a helping factor but is never a substitute.
